Okay, I'm starting to feel like a tool...

Between Brendan, Tam, and Dan working almost constantly, and my own personal troubles, we have gone yet another (two?) week(s) without brewing. I'm sure my liver is saying "thank god," but I must apologize to the rest of you.

You might be wondering why there isn't anything to talk about: Well, to be honest, there is. There's lots to talk about, really. But Brew Sessions are usually when we come up with new ideas, refine old ones, gather materials, work on beer-related projects, and hatch plots to overthrow world governments. So without brew sessions, there are no new plots or developments. Personally, I've been spending my (now very ample) free time playing World of Warcraft and reading about various beer styles. Brendan and Dan have been working almost constantly (Brendan's last paycheck was for 115 hours ::boggles::).

This next weekend, we shall brew. And it shall be excellent. We got the recipe for an incredible copper lager from Bob the Beer God which we'll be brewing. We also have about 25 gallons of beer that's been fermenting for Quite Some Time now, and needs to be kegged/transferred.

So I leave you with this Fact of the Day: The only beer that America can really call its own, and the only major beer style to be invented in the last 100 years or so, is the California Common, also known as the Steam Beer (though the Anchor Steam Brewing Company trademarked the phrase "Steam Beer" the year that I was born, 1981).
